UNC baseball has signed 16 newcomers to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period, head coach Mike Fox announced Wednesday.
The class includes six of the nation’s top 100 prospects, according to Baseball America.
The class is scheduled to enroll at UNC in August 2016 and will take the field for the Diamond Heels beginning with the 2017 season.
Perfect Game has ranked the group the number one recruiting class in the nation.
The class includes out-of-state players from Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, New Jersey and New York.
Five North Carolinians are in the class, including Orange High’s Bryse Wilson.
Wilson, the 6’ 1” 215-pound pitcher, is ranked as the number three prospect in North Carolina, according to recruiting sites.
