Orange High School freshman Thys Oldenburg is still in a coma after being injured in a JV football game last week Thursday.

The 14-year-old was rushed to the hospital after suffering a hard tackle on the field. Oldenburg’s family says he went through three emergency surgeries over the weekend.

Oldenburg’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover medical expenses; it had already raised close to 10,000 dollars as of Monday afternoon.

Another Orange football player was also seriously injured last week. Marvante Beasley had to be hospitalized overnight after suffering an injury during the varsity game on Friday. He was released the next morning, though.
