CARRBORO – The Carrboro Police Department needs your help finding a suspect wanted for allegedly taking indecent liberties with a child on July 24.
“As a result of our investigation as well as a certified medical exam, which is conducted by experts who are trained and certified to interview younger children about incidents, we were able to develop enough to formally charge Mr. White with one count of that indecent liberties,” Carrboro Police Captain, Chris Atack, says.
Dwayne Anthony White formerly of Hanna Street in Carrboro is wanted on one felony count of that charge. Capt. Atack says he’s known to frequent the Carrboro and Chapel Hill areas. There is a known relationship between White and the child, but Capt. Atack says the CPD is not releasing that information at this time.
“With this specific instance, this is the only charge,” Capt. Atack says. “It appears it was an isolated incident; it wasn’t a continuing series of events.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Carrboro Police Sgt. Joe Thomas at 919-918-7418 or Crime Stoppers at 919-942-7515.
