Durham Police are investigating a shooting that left a 25-year-old dead.

Police say officers responded to the shooting at 6:17 Wednesday evening near the intersection of Grace Lane and Liberty Street. Officers initially found one adult male with a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries that did not appear to be life threatening, according to law enforcement.

A release says officers found a second shooting victim “a short time later” on Commerce Street. 25-year-old Jakeba Keshawn Henry, of Durham, later died at the hospital.

Police say the two victims were together at the time of the shooting on Commerce Street.
