Friday, September 30 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Are you fascinated with the stars and space? Morehead Planetarium will be having a showing of “Carolina Skies,” a “live” star show that focuses on stars, constellations, and planets. Guests will learn how to identify celestial objects that appear to the naked eye and the legends and myths that were created by ancient cultures to explain the astronomical phenomena. Saturday, October 1 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

This Saturday, Paws4ever will be holding a pickleball tournament fundraiser at the Ephesus Park Courts! This event will feature multiple tournaments for different levels of pickleball players, from novice to intermediate. Event registration fees will go to Paws4Ever. Paws4Ever will also be on-hand with adoptable dogs from 11:30-1:30 for you to meet! Rain date will be October 2nd. To learn more about the schedule, click here.

Parents, Flyleaf Books will be hosting local author Sue Soltis for a reading of her new picture books! Soltis will be reading The Stars Just Up The Street and Nothing Like a Puffin. Click here for more information about the books and Sue’s reading.

Saturday, October 1 12:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Carolina football continues its season with a game against Virginia Tech. Coverage begins at 12:30 with Inside Carolina Live with a pre-game show from Tar Heel Sports Network an hour before kickoff. Kickoff is at 3:30 and we’ll have all the action for you. Once the game is over, stay tuned for post-game analysis from the Tar Heel Sports Network. Apple season is here and to celebrate Botanist and Barrel will be hosting Apple Fest. You can watch as they press fresh apples and make them into a cider to be released next summer. You’ll be able to try some mill apples and fresh pressed apple juice. There will also be mulled apple cider (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), apple cider donuts, and more. Sunday, October 2 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

If you have kids preparing for college, the Chapel Hill Public Library will be hosting an event to answer all the questions that come with it. This class will look to clear up what colleges really look for in applications, if letters of recommendations are actually read, what topic should be chosen for the essay, how to tell if a college is actually good, and much more. Sunday, October 2 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Come out Sunday for an architectural tour of UNC campus with the Chapel Hill Historical Society. Learn more about how the older architectural style mixes with the modern on this walking tour.
