If you’re ready for Halloween, you can start the festivities as early as this weekend! Come out to Spring Haven Farm and carve a pumpkin with goats! The farm has been transformed into a true Halloween fantasyland to get you in the spirit. As well as carving pumpkins, you can take a tractor ride, roast s’mores, and attempt to find gems in the mining sluice. Spring Haven Farm will be offering the pumpkin carving from now until October 31st so you’ll have plenty of time. For more information on the pumpkin carving, click here.

Friday, September 29 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Come out and get some BBQ this weekend from the Hillsborough Kiwanis Club. It’s $10 per plate and the proceeds will go to the Kiwanis Club to continue to provide support to the various clubs they support. Get take out, eat in, or get it delivered to you. Click here for more information.

Collecto-Con starts this weekend. It’s a two-day collector extravaganza. Over two days this weekend, collectors will show off their collections in various ways, including a collector presentation, a vintage jewelry and fashion show, and a collecto-crawl: a treasure map tour. Friday, September 30 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Fridays on the Front Porch continues at The Carolina Inn this weekend. Sip on some cocktails or North Carolina beer and enjoy some food from a food truck, while taking in a different artist each week. Click here for more information on Fridays on the Front Porch. This week, hear music from Emma Livingston and enjoy food from Island Coconut Kitchen and Mesas NC. 

Friday, September 29 6:00 p.m. – 7:15 p.m.

Franklin Street Yoga Center will be holding a full moon mural scavenger hunt for a good cause. Each team will be given clues that point to different murals around downtown Chapel Hill and Carrboro. Register your team for $40 to participate. Some of the proceeds will go to benefit the UNC Sickle Cell Anemia Disease Program. For more information on the scavenger hunt, click here.

Saturday, September 30 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Come out to University Place and get some fresh produce from the Chapel Hill Farmers’ Market. Stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables while also shopping for breads, crafts, and more! You can find the market in front of Stoney River and Silverspot. For more information, click here.

Saturday, September 30 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

This Saturday, support a good cause with the Paws4Ever Pickleball tournament. Everyone is welcome in all levels of pickleball experience. Entry fee is $30 plus $10 for each event you participate in. All proceeds will go to support Paws4Ever. Click here for more information.

This weekend, Orange County Animal Services will be holding a low-cost rabies vaccination clinic. The clinic will be offering 1 year and 3 year vaccinations for $10. OCAS will also be offering microchips for $35. You do not need to be an Orange County resident to attend the clinic. For more information, click here.

Doug Dotson Pottery will be holding the The Mockernut Show this weekend. It’s a multimedia show showcasing the works of Doug Dotson and Ronan Peterson. The Greater Durham Moose Lodge will be holding an appreciation luncheon for veterans, active-duty military members around our community and their families. The luncheon will honor their courage and service and sacrifice. Click here to learn more about the luncheon.
