Aaron welcomes historians Sarah McNamara and Cecilia Marquez, who will be appearing at Epilogue Books at 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 27.

McNamara is a historian at Texas A&M, while Marquez is at Duke; they’ve just released new books on the Latino experience in the American South, published by UNC Press. McNamara’s book is “Ybor City: Crucible of the Latina South,” about the Latinx community in Tampa, Florida. Marquez’s book is “Making the Latino South: A History of Racial Formation,” about the shifting ways that Latino Americans have been classified (white? non-white?) throughout the 20th and early 21st centuries.
