Día De Los Muertos Ofrenda

Honor the dead this weekend with Duke Arts at the Día De Los Muertos Ofrenda at Duke Chapel. Visitors are invited to contribute to this sacred Mexican tradition by adding an offering in the form of a photograph or object representing a departed loved one. Click here for more information.

Maize Craze at Cane Creek Farm
Thursday, October 2; Friday, October 3; Saturday, October 4; Sunday, October 5 1:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Starting this Friday and continuing through October, Cane Creek Farm will host its first annual Maize Craze. Explore a maze in the shape of a celtic cross carved into an 11-acre corn field. Community Resiliency Model

Join Orange Partnership for Alcohol and Drug Free Youth this Thursday at Orange County Solid Waste for their Community Resiliency Model workshop. CRM workshops introduce the six wellness skills of CRM to help adults and children track their own nervous systems to bring greater balance to mind, body, and spirit. Tales and Tails

Dog lovers are invited to Dingo Dog Brewing this Friday for Carolina Public Humanities’ lecture Tales and Tails. Professor of History at UNC Dr. Lisa Wolverton will be giving a short lecture from her seminar course all about dogs in pop culture and our evolving relationship with our dog companions. The Tar Heels look to bounce back after a tough loss as they face off against Clemson this Saturday. Our coverage will start at 9:00 a.m. with Inside Carolina Live. Transplanting Traditions Community Farm is holding their annual Farm To Table community fundraiser this Saturday, celebrating the resilience, labor and cultural contributions of immigrant and refugee communities. There will be cultural performances, storytelling, and live music; opportunities to connect with and support local immigrant-owned farms and food businesses; and a multi-course farm to table meal prepared by chefs from immigrant and refugee backgrounds.
