Through May 7th, the Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties will be holding a Shop, Save, Support fundraiser. Purchase a shop, save, support card from the Justice League and participating businesses will be offering a discount to those that have one. The proceeds of the cards go toward supporting food access and education around our community. For more information, click here.

Vietri will be having a Spring Warehouse Sale of their imported, handcrafted dinnerware, flatware, glassware, and more! The 9th annual Freight Train Blues concert series starts this weekend in Carrboro. The concert series celebrates the life and legacy of blueswoman Elizabeth “Libba” Cotten. This week’s lineup features bluegrass and blues musician Gail Ceasar and Louisiana Blues musician Lil’ Jimmy Reed. Click here for more information.

The Unity Center of Peace will be hosting a Full Moon Fire Ceremony this Friday. Fire ceremonies are performed around the world in a number of ways and the moon cycles are a powerful time in the spiritual world. This Saturday, Bethel Baptist Church will be having a Community Tag Sale. Come out and shop pottery, plants, baked goods, and more. The sale will be every Saturday through May 13th. There are also vendor slots available if you’re interested in selling. For more information, click here.

Beautiful Together Animal Sanctuary will also be at Dog Days in Chatham County this weekend at The Park in Briar Chapel. You’ll get the chance to meet beautiful adoptable dogs and puppies and speak with members of East Chapel Hill High’s Beautiful Together club. The NC Triangle Chapter of the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network will be holding a walk to end Bladder Cancer this Saturday. The walk will raise money and awareness for bladder cancer patients and their caregivers. The walk will also include donuts, live music, and an art station. This Saturday the NC Botanical Garden will be holding their Spring Native Plant Sale. You can purchase plants grown in the Botanical Gardens own nursery as well other local plant nurseries. The Saturday Slow Down at RambleRill is back this weekend. There will be fun for the whole family at the Slow Down, including live music, a food truck, a craft station for kids, a silent auction, locally baked goods to buy, and much more. The annual Burlington Carousel Festival will be this weekend at the Burlington City Park. But this year’s event will be even more exciting with the completion of the city’s hand-carved and hand-painted carousel. The event will also feature arts and crafts vendors, live music, and more. The Durham Greek Festival is back after a 3-year pandemic hiatus!
