If you’re a photographer, the Department of Environment, Agriculture, and Parks are holding a photography contest. Explore Orange County and take pictures of the beautiful nature we have around us. The theme for this year is “Flora and Pollinators.” They will be accepting submissions through May 31st. For more information about the contest, click here.

This is the last weekend you can shop with a discount through the Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties’ spring fundraiser. Purchase a card from the league and shop with discounts while supporting non-profits around our community. Click here to buy your card.

This Saturday at Pluck Farm, Learning Outside is having their 5K trail run/walk and kids race this weekend. All proceeds raised will go toward Learning Outside. After you’ve finished running, you can enjoy some delicious brews from Steel String Brewery. For more information, click here.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision to overturn the segregation of schools. This Saturday, Carolina Public Humanities will be holding a seminar that discusses the legacy of Brown vs. Board of Education and discussing what has changed in our education system and what has stayed the same. The Saturday Slowdowns are back at RambleRill Farm for the year. Walk the trails and tour the farm, enjoy the animals, and shop from local vendors that will be on site. Click here for more information.

World Labyrinth Day is this Saturday and the Unity Center of Peace is holding the Walk as One at One. Join together and walk a labyrinth in peace. For more information, click here.

Come out to Playmakers Repertory Company this weekend to see Dawn Landes and Friends perform The Liberated Woman’s Songbook, a reimagined version of the book published in the height of the Women’s Liberation Movement.
