Spend some time outside this weekend with Spring Haven Farm. The farm will be open for you to spend some time with the animals. Before or after your visit with the animals, you can warm up by the fire and roast some s’mores. There’s more than one s’mores kit to choose from with excellent choices that aren’t just your regular s’mores! Once you’ve finished your s’mores, you can then feed the farm animals. First Fridays at the mill is back this weekend with Coalesce! It features 10 visual artists and 10 poets paired together to make works based on each other’s pieces. The result is 20 visual art pieces each accompanied with a poem. All works will be on sale during the event as well as broadsides (posters featuring the accompanied poems). Enjoy nature while trying to catch a sight of some owls with Piedmont Wildlife Center. On this one mile walk, you’ll learn all about North Carolina owls and their habitats. Come to the Morehead Planetarium for a showing of “The Longest Night: A Winter’s Tale.” This tale follows a girl born into a family of nomadic storytellers on a journey to save her village that leads her to a dragons nest. Unity Center of Peace will be having their yearly white stone ceremony. Write a vision for the new year on a white stone that you will keep that can help guide you through throughout the year. Set your intention either in person or virtually. For more information, click here.
