The Record Shop is on the road!

The 2023 lineup for Bonnaroo featured enough artists we’ve already heard on The Hill that missing out wasn’t an option! Victor Lewis — host of “The Record Shop” on 97.9 The Hill — is headed down to The Farm in Manchester, Tennessee this weekend, along with friend of the show and local photographer Robert McCraw, to check out ‘Roo on behalf of all of us who might be stuck here at home. Check back here on Chapelboro for updates from the festival, and listen in live on Indie With Andy for on-the-ground coverage and conversations Thursday and Friday afternoons!

With Durham natives Sylvan Esso high up the card as a headliner on Friday, sharing stages with the Fleet Foxes, Vulfpeck, GriZ, Portugal. The Man and more, there’s no shortage of North Carolina pride. Who else playing Bonnaroo have we heard on The Hill? Besides Andrew Stuckey landing an interview with Suki Waterhouse before she played Cat’s Cradle back in February, we’ve seen plenty of artists at Bonnaroo this year on New Music Monday!

If you want to check out some of the shows as they happen, all Hulu subscribers can watch Bonnaroo sets streaming live, this year! If you’re looking for a playlist to put on shuffle, here’s Victor’s:

Down on The Farm: Totems of Bonnaroo

Totems are a big part of the festival experience for a lot of folks. Part public art project, part identification tool to find friends in the crowd — a totem is both potential conversation starter for new friends and necessary equipment to keep track of the ones you came here with! Friend of the show and photographer Robert McCraw has a special place in his heart for totems and the folks who commit to carrying them around all day, so below you’ll find some pictures and a quick get-to-know-you questionnaire from some of the loveliest folks at ‘Roo who had a little time to talk!
