#WhereMilesWent started about 5 years ago when my son, Miles was 2 years old. I started it because I was staying at home, trying to balance life while being a mom. I found myself wishing I had more “mom friends” and wanting to get out more. I struggled tremendously not knowing anyone and walking through a new journey.

After a while, it was important to me that I get Miles out of the house and if I am being honest, I needed to get out too. I started by going to local parks and being bold enough to say “hello!” to women with kids and the rest was history. I began making friends and Miles and I eventually started going to local bookstores, museums, and kid-friendly restaurants. We saw day trips turn into road trips, that turned into trips across the USA.

I saw a difference in myself as a woman and a mother because while Miles was growing his circle, so was I.

We go through so many different phases as people. Whether you are single, married or in a lifelong commitment, change is always happening and when you begin to add children to the mix, things get interesting. I had to make a promise to myself that I would love Miles well no matter what phase I was in, and I learned to find clarity through travel and visiting different places.

Parenthood is ever-changing and so is life, so why not make the best of it while you are here? I want to encourage you that if you are in a situation where you feel stagnant and craving for more; get outside and play! (No matter what your outside looks like.)

Remember: You do not grow inside your comfort zone.
