It’s time for another round of Studio Sessions with the School of Rock Chapel Hill, featuring three classic songs performed by the House Band!
House Band members Cole Ivester, Bella Jackson-Ruybal, Hazen Johnson, Phillip Webb, and Gianna Whitley join Aaron to play three songs and look ahead at a busy summer. School of Rock always goes on a Summer Tour, and this year’s no exception – but while they’ve always stuck to the east coast in the past, this year they’re hopping on a plane and heading to Seattle. (Not only will the band be playing shows: they’ll also get a chance to record at a legendary Seattle studio, where Pearl Jam also recorded one of their seminal albums.)
On top of the summer tour, the House Band also has several other big events this summer, including a show at Local 506 on June 22 and a Mid-Season Preview at Cat’s Cradle on June 23. That Cat’s Cradle event will also be a benefit show: School of Rock is joining forces with the Cradle to raise money for the UNC Lineberger Center’s Breast Cancer Research Fund. School of Rock owner/GM David Joseph and music director Justin Ellis join in to discuss those big shows and others.
Listen to their conversation, plus the band’s performances of songs by Jamiroquai, Vulfpeck, and Yes.
