The Shoaldiggers returned to Live and Local this week, ahead of a show at Local 506 on Saturday to celebrate the release of their new album “Striking Fire.”
A raucous nine-piece band known for their exciting live shows, the Shoaldiggers have also been busy in the recording studio: “Striking Fire” is their second album in as many years. But the band members feel something special about this one – describing the new album as “the culmination of a lot of years of creating music together.”
Listen to the album on Bandcamp.
You’ll get a chance to hear all the songs this weekend: the Shoaldiggers will headline an album-release show Saturday, June 8, at Local 506. The show begins at 8 p.m. with the Dirty French Broads, a newgrass band out of Asheville.

If you can’t catch Saturday’s show, the Shoaldiggers are never far from a stage: they’ve got another album-release show in Greensboro later this month.

Five Shoaldiggers (Stephen Beck, Chris Knotts, Gary Larson, Matt Singer, and Daryl White) stopped by Live & Local and played three songs: “Rusty Hinge,” “Simple As You,” and “Stop Signs.”
