Aaron welcomed the band Megayacht to Live and Local this week, ahead of their show at Local 506 on Friday, December 8.

Mitch Bennett, Matt Blanchard, Kevin Jenkins and Frank Peveler are longtime friends and musicians, but they only recently came together as Megayacht. (The band’s name is derived from one of their song lyrics; the guys say they had many band-name ideas, but most of them were already taken.)
The band has had a busy year: they released their debut EP “Must Win Games” back in January, and last month they dropped a new single, “Caviar Eyes.”
They’re celebrating with Friday’s show at Local 506, their first live performance in Chapel Hill. The show begins at 8:00 p.m., with Erie Choir and Blab School opening.
Visit Local506.com for tickets and more information.
Megayacht stopped by Live & Local to discuss their origin story, their new EP, and their plans for 2024 (which could include a full-length album). They also played a live recording of their song “The List.”
