Scivic Rivers (Randy Bickford) joined Aaron on Live & Local this week, with a new album due out in February and an upcoming show at the ArtsCenter.
Singer-songwriter Bickford is a musical veteran, already with six full-length albums – but this is his first album as “Scivic Rivers,” a name he chose following a conversation with fellow musician David Berman. (“Scivic” is a portmanteau of “scenic” and “civic,” if you’re wondering.) Partly inspired by Bickford’s experience as a new father, the album drops on February 9; the album-release show at the ArtsCenter is Saturday, February 11, with Quetico opening.
Randy Bickford stopped by 97.9 The Hill to discuss the album, his inspirations, his songwriting process, and his plans for 2023. He also plays three songs, including a new one not on the album. Listen:
