Chase Davenport of Red October joined Aaron on Live & Local Tuesday to celebrate his debut EP, “Stressed Out.”

Red October is Davenport’s solo project – named after the film “The Hunt for Red October,” if you’re wondering. Inspired by bands like Alice in Chains and Joy Division, with songs ranging from autobiography to science fiction, “Stressed Out” came out in late November – after a slight delay to flesh out the project. Davenport says he was ready to release it as a three-song single in September, but was persuaded to record more songs to make it an EP. (He did release the title track earlier this fall and it’s already gotten some airplay.)

Chase Davenport stopped by 97.9 The Hill during “Live & Local” to chat about the EP, share plans for a full-length album next year, and play two tracks, “Stressed Out” and “Ignorance Is Bliss.” Listen:
