Singer-songwriter Kenny Roby joined Aaron on Live & Local this week, ahead of a show at the Pour House in Raleigh to celebrate the release of his new (self-titled) album.

He’s now based in Woodstock, New York, but Kenny Roby has been a fixture of the Triangle music scene for over two decades: he fronted 6 String Drag in the 1990s before going solo in the early 2000s. Though he’s mostly focused on his solo work these days, he still occasionally performs with the band – and in 2021 he contributed to “Highway Butterfly,” a tribute to the late Neal Casal. Dozens of artists came together for that project, which raised funds to buy instruments for kids and support mental health services for professional musicians.
