Hank Close has been active in the local music scene for years, and this week he drops his first solo album, “Guilty Pleasures (Are the Best Ones).”

Close – styled as Hank (!) here, punctuation and all – grew up immersed in the music of New York’s 1970s and 80s punk scene, and that influence comes out in the eleven songs here. In addition to the full album, he’s also released a new single this week, “Stupid Teens” – the third single off “Guilty Pleasures,” in addition to “Lady St.” and “Why Go.” (All eleven songs feature Chris Bullock, Gabriel Reynolds, and Rob DiMauro on bass, keys, and drums, respectively.)

Hank Close stopped by 97.9 The Hill during “Live and Local” to chat with Aaron Keck about the album and play three songs – including the new single, “Stupid Teens.” Listen below.
