Fresh off the release of her new album “Every Acre,” celebrated local artist H.C. McEntire joined Aaron this week on Live & Local.

H.C. McEntire has been a fixture in the Triangle music scene for more than a decade, beginning with a three-album run with Mount Moriah. McEntire has now equaled that output as a solo artist: with songs inspired by love, heartbreak, and our connection with the land, “Every Acre” is her third solo album – and she says she thinks it’s her best work yet. (It’s a “solo” album in name only, though. The songs were written in close collaboration with her band members; in fact she says several of the songs hadn’t even been written yet when they went into the studio to record.)

Visit HCMcEntire.com for more information about the album.

“Every Acre” is out now, with contributions from guest artists Amy Ray (Indigo Girls) and S.G. Goodman. McEntire’s next live show will be Friday, March 24, opening for Goodman at Motorco in Durham. (Click here to buy tickets.)

H.C. McEntire stopped by 97.9 The Hill to discuss the album and play three tracks: “New View,” “Rows of Clover,” and “Turpentine.” Listen:
