Local musician Jesse Fox stopped by Live and Local this week, ahead of the release of his new album “Faster Dreams.”

Due out on Friday, May 24, “Faster Dreams” is Fox’s first full-length album as a solo artist, after nearly a decade fronting the Burlington-based band Love & Valor. The songs themselves are not new, though: Fox says he wrote most of them in 2020, and the album’s title refers to what they represented then – for better or worse.

“(That) time in my life was very difficult, a lot of change going on,” he says. “And these songs were kind of a good escape. They were meant to be pictures of what I wanted, or where I wanted to be, but wasn’t able to get to. And so it felt like they were dreams that were too fast to catch.”

Now, Fox says, he’s in a better place – and he couldn’t be happier with how the songs sound.

“I’ve never been more excited for an album,” he says. “The rest of the guys in the band have turned (the songs) into something more beautiful than I thought they ever could be.”

Jesse Fox stopped by Live & Local to discuss the album and play three songs, “Home,” “Hanging Tree,” and “Second Life,” backed by Eli Howells, Kiah Wells, and Tucker Galloway.
