This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Mark Dorosin!

Mark Dorosin — civil rights attorney and co-founder of the Julius Chambers Center for Civil Rights — has been on the Orange County Board of Commissioners for almost a decade, and now he’s stepping down to move to Florida. In honor of his contributions to our community, Dorosin is this week’s Hometown Hero!

“North Carolina is in many ways, ground zero for civil rights,” said Dorosin. “We’ve been doing a lot of important work in Alamance County, a lot of important work around Confederate monuments. … Of course, there’s new new legislation coming down the pike all the time. So I have no doubt that the lawyers committee will continue to be a leader in the civil rights struggle here in North Carolina.
