This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Fred Stipe. Stipe, a long-time Chapel Hill resident, is the board chair of the South Orange Rescue Squad. Having been a member since 1997, he’s helped lead the volunteer EMS group through its 30th, 40th and now 50th anniversaries.

Stipe is the President for Show Pros Event Services of Chapel Hill, Inc., but is also a member of the UNC Community Emergency Response Team — reflecting how he goes above and beyond to help with our community safety and emergency response.
