This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Blair Pollock, who is retiring after 34 years of heading up Orange County’s recycling programs. Speaking on how reducing and reusing has always been important to him, Pollock recalled an anecdote his mother once shared:

“If you hark back to my mother, saying ‘I knew this was your path when you brought home some bent willow furniture from the curb, from somebody else’s garbage, to decorate your teenage room when you were 14,” said Pollock.
