This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Lt. Nate Chambers!

Chambers has worked at the Chapel Hill Police Department since 2005. A recipient of the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for his service in the community, his relationship-building skills with all ages is a big reason why he’s beloved by the police and those around town. Chambers was nominated for the national honor by a local resident, with Chapel Hill Police Chief Chris Blue then detailing Chambers’ dedication to volunteerism and various elements of law enforcement.

“He just understands the commitment that is required to truly become a fixture in our community,” Blue told 97.9 The Hill, “and he is most certainly that.”
