This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by the O. Max Gardner Foundation, is Kathy Allee.

Allee is a volunteer and parent mentor for Family Reading Partners. She is first in line for every need both big and small, from making treats for weekend getaways to organizing a massive volunteer effort four times a year, bundling books and educational toys and delivering them to families. Family Reading Partners works with families with kids from birth to kindergarten, ensuring each child is ready when they start school by providing mentoring, modeling and books for families.
