This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is George Chall.
Chall is a World War II vet that served in the 110th evacuation hospital, treating soldiers from the Battle of the Bulge and other key battles on the European front. After WWII, he taught public policy to college students and government officials alike. Since his time serving, he has been dedicated to honor and support veterans in our community. Recently, the Town of Pittsboro — where he has been a resident of for years — honored Chall during a rededication of Route 64 as a Blue Star Memorial Highway.
