This summer, 97.9 The Hill and are kicking off summer with the Live and Local Live concert series! Held at University Place in front of a live audience on the Radio City Music Patio — formerly the City Kitchen patio — Live and Local Live is our first in-person event as North Carolina opens back up, and we couldn’t be more excited!

Presented in partnership with Cappy Hagman Coldwell Banker HPW and with on-site beers from Craftboro Brewing Depot, Live and Local Live is a community event supporting local musicians, local radio, and local journalism. Tickets will be extremely limited, and the event will follow all CDC and North Carolina guidelines for outdoor events, but each show will also be broadcast live on 97.9 The Hill so everyone can take part in the fun.

Hosted by 97.9 The Hill’s Aaron Keck, the concert series kicks off June 17 at 6 p.m. with a concert from Blue Cactus — styled as a “blend of grit, glitz, groove, and twang that evokes a celestial soundscape,” and tickets can be purchased here. The series will also include shows from Jonathan Byrd, “a folk singer with the heart of a rock n’ roll band” and The Shoaldiggers, “an acid jug band that brings the Piratebilly sound.”

Tickets for Live and Local Live are name your price, beverages and beer will be available on site, and you can get discounts from some restaurants in University Place with your ticket. Kids 12 and under get in free!
