Rob Parker and Darrick Fu want you to eat a frog. Well, kind of.

This afternoon on The Aaron Keck Show, Aaron was joined by Rob & Darrick, owners of Eat the Frog Fitness, coming soon to Chapel Hill. They are eager to open their state of the art, 24/7, small group fitness studio, to begin sharing their passion for fitness with our community.

This wasn’t a regular business spotlight, though! Prior to owning Eat the Frog Fitness, Darrick Fu had a career studying infectious diseases and vaccines in the biopharmaceutical industry. Gyms across North Carolina have yet to receive approval to open, but with Darrick’s unique combination of expertise, he’s ready to safely open their gym. COVID-19 has been determined to be a respiratory virus, which “are not transmitted by breathing heavy or by sweating, respiratory viruses are transmitted by coughing or sneezing.”

Because Eat the Frog focuses on small group fitness, the number of people in the studio at one time is already lower than other fitness facilities. As Darrick says, “we’re not trying to maximize the number of people per square foot. We’re trying to maximize the results per person.”

Rob Parker found his passion for fitness during his time in the military. Serving six tours in as many years, being out-of-shape and more prone to injury simply wasn’t an option. Rob went on to study health and fitness in college, working as a personal trainer, and was excited to find the Eat the Frog brand – because their beliefs toward fitness aligned with his. “We want to bring people in and teach them more about fitness. I think that’s where most people get scared to come work out, because they don’t quite know what to do.”

Between the personal trainer teaching the class, and the virtual trainer that is available in the studio 24 hours, 7 days a week, Eat the Frog is an innovative fitness brand that guarantees results.

Of course, Aaron couldn’t let the guys leave without asking about their interesting brand name. Eat the Frog comes from the following famous Mark Twain quote: “Eat a live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day.” For most people, fitness is their ‘frog’.

This Saturday, June 13th, Eat the Frog is hosting a free bootcamp at Community Park in Chapel Hill. Space is limited, to maintain social distancing measures, so RSVP by hopping over to their Facebook Events page.
