Clyde Jones, local folk artist best known for his “critters” of all shapes and sizes, has been celebrating in an annual family-friendly celebration for nearly two decades. In its 19th iteration, ClydeFEST returns as the Chatham Arts Council organizes a modified out-and-about variation on a classic Chatham event.

Termed as “ClydeFEST in the Wild,” the event will feature outposts positioned across Chatham County on multiple days in the spring season – each of which will feature artistic opportunities for kids of all ages along with some musical performances inviting guests to move their feet amidst the famous critters.

Beginning with a performance on Tuesday, April 20 from artist Diali Cissokho in “truck-and-trailer style,” according to the event announcement, ClydeFEST will continue through May with more performances, mobile “Crittervilles” and invitations for kids and adults alike to create and paint their own pieces of folk art.
