Join Aaron Keck every Tuesday afternoon for Chatham County Roundup, a recurring series that shines the spotlight on Chatham County through engaging discussions and interviews with locals, newsmakers, officials and more.

This week on Chatham County Roundup, join 97.9 The Hill’s Aaron Keck and Chatham county commissioner Karen Howard for a discussion on Chatham’s ongoing response to COVID-19, its latest community survey, the situation in schools, developments in Chatham Park and more.

“I am extremely proud of our healthcare workers and our Chatham county staff that have gone just really above and beyond to help meet the needs of the community. Distributing masks, coordinating food and medical supply giveaways and drop offs. Doing pretty much anything that they were called upon to do to help address the need. We did our ‘employees of the quarter’ last night, and three of them were our infectious disease nurses,” said Howard. “It’s good to recognize them and recognize that they are putting themselves and their families at risk all the time for the health of the community, but definitely a lot going on. And, you know, I think we’re all COVID weary. It has been going on for a long time. There’s this desperate need to get back to some semblance of normal, and we’re just not there yet.”
