The No. 2 UNC men’s soccer team steps out of conference play Tuesday with the hopes of coming away with something better than a tie when the Tar Heels face the Campbell Camels.
The No. 4 Notre Dame women’s soccer team handed No. 1 North Carolina its first loss of the season, despite the Tar Heels’ 18-5 mark in shots, including a 6-2 tally in shots on goal.
“You got to win. You just got to win. Guys got to get off blocks. Guys got to make tackles in space. It’s not rocket science in that respect,” Coach Koenning says.
We’re on the eve of the much anticipated home opener for Tar Heel football and the team is excited about performing in front of the fans decked out in blue and white for the 12:30 pm kickoff on Saturday.
With a few days to step back and regroup from the South Carolina loss last Thursday, senior quarterback Bryn Renner and senior defensive end Kareem Martin said on Monday that they will learn from their mistakes and look to grab a win in Chapel Hill on Saturday.
“I thought we played a very unselfish game,” UNC coach Karen Shelton said. “We moved the ball well all over the field and created great scoring chances.”
