Most of the so-called “Tillis 15” who staged an overnight sit-in at Republican State House Speaker Thom Tillis’s office this past Tuesday, and got arrested for it, re-assembled at the Durham office of the NAACP for a press conference Friday morning.

Memorial Day will postpone Moral Monday, the well-known demonstrations against the North Carolina General Assembly’s legislative session, which kicked off last week.
Around 1,500 protesters assembled on Bicentennial Mall as the Moral Monday movement returned to Raleigh for the short session of the North Carolina General Assembly.
The capitol city will be ringing with shouts, songs and sirens as Moral Monday protests return for the first full week of the legislative session at 5:00 p.m.
“This is the most enthusiasm, the most serious organizing effort I have ever seen going into it. It is definitely going to be the biggest HKonJ ever,” Chilton said.
