After 10 months of closed doors and strictly virtual programming, on Wednesday, the Ackland Art Museum reopened to the public with newly implemented safety measures.
A traveling artistic installation called the “RedBall Project” is coming to Chapel Hill this week and next, part of the Ackland Art Museum’s 60th anniversary celebration. Artist Kurt Perschke joined Aaron on the air, along with the Ackland’s Lauren Turner and Chapel Hill Public Library director Susan Brown.

On March 29, Director at the Ackland Art Museum, Katie Ziglar talked to Ron Stutts about the increase in visitors to the Ackland as a result of the terrace gallery displaying Patrick Dougherty’s Step Right Up “stickwork”. They also discussed all of the opportunity for visitors that comes as a result of a generous gift, including northern European works on paper from Sheldon and Leena Peck.
