UNC’s thrilling comeback victory over Wake Forest shook up the college football landscape Saturday afternoon, and two Tar Heels are being honored for their performances in the upset. Running back Ty Chandler and offensive lineman Marcus McKethan were named two of the ACC’s Players of the Week Monday.

Chandler had by far his best game as a Tar Heel against the Demon Deacons, rushing for 213 yards on 22 carries and scoring four touchdowns. All of those numbers were season highs for Chandler. According to head coach Mack Brown, Chandler is also the first Tar Heel to rush for four touchdowns in a single game since Leon Johnson did so in 1993. Brown also named Chandler as UNC’s Offensive Player of the Game.

McKethan picked up the ACC’s offensive line honor as part of a Carolina front that helped Chandler and others amass 330 rushing yards against the Demon Deacons. McKethan is a senior from Barnwell, S.C.

This is the second time both Chandler and McKethan have been named two of the ACC’s Players of the Week, after they received honors following UNC’s Week 3 win over Virginia. They and the rest of the Tar Heels will be back in action Thursday night when Carolina takes on Pitt.
