Despite a team loss to NC State on Friday night, it was still a banner day for UNC wrestler Clay Lautt. Lautt defeated No. 4 Hayden Hidlay of the Wolfpack during the dual, scoring the highest-ranked win of his career and dealing Hidlay his first loss of the season, and first-ever against an ACC opponent.

This is the third time Lautt has won Wrestler of the Week honors. He is the first ACC wrestler since Hidlay to win Wrestler of the Week three times in a season. He is also the third Tar Heel wrestler to receive the award this year.

Lautt is currently ranked No. 8 in the 174-pound weight class, and finishes the regular season with a 14-4 overall record and 9-4 record in duals. Carolina has an 8-6 overall record this season, and will next compete in the ACC Championships in Charlottesville, VA, on March 6. The NCAA Championships will be held in Detroit between March 17 and March 19.
