Six goals scored, none allowed, and another impressive win. Just another day at the office for the No. 1 Tar Heels.

Carolina completed its two-match stay in Texas with authority, running past Baylor 6-0 on Sunday afternoon. UNC scored three goals in each half and has still not conceded a single goal this year, including in the preseason.

Carolina’s six goals came from six different scorers: Avery Patterson (her fourth in four regular-season matches), Emily Colton, Emily Murphy, Kate Faasse, Sam Meza and Tori Dellaperuta.

It was all part of an offensive onslaught on the part of the Tar Heels, who unleashed 27 shots (16 on goal) throughout the afternoon. The Bears took just six shots on goal, all of which were saved by UNC keepers Emmie Allen and Marz Josephson. Once again, head coach Anson Dorrance played one keeper per half.

As has become a signature of the 2022 Tar Heels, Dorrance also played nearly every player at his disposal. 28 different Tar Heels checked in, with each playing at least 19 minutes of the 90 total. Of those 28, 16 took at least one shot.

The dominating performance moves the No. 1 Tar Heels to 4-0 on the young season, with one more match before returning home to Chapel Hill. Carolina will visit Missouri next Thursday for a true road match with the Tigers. That match will be played at 1 p.m. and will be available to stream on SEC Network+. The team’s next home match is Sunday, September 4 against No. 6 UCLA.
