Both the men’s and women’s tennis teams earned berths to the NCAA Tournament Monday evening, and both are national seeds in the 64-team fields.

The men’s team, fresh off a runner-up finish in the ACC Tournament, received the No. 15 overall seed in the field. The Tar Heels will host a pod of four teams for first- and second-round action Friday and Saturday. Though the host site was originally the Cary Tennis Park, the men’s team’s first-round match was moved indoors to Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center in Chapel Hill due to inclement weather. Carolina will open NCAA play against Navy at 4:45 p.m. The winner of that match will advance to meet the winner of Princeton and Arizona on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Also in Carolina’s 16-team quadrant are No. 2 overall seed and defending national champions Florida, as well as No. 7 overall seed Virginia. The Cavaliers defeated the Tar Heels in the ACC championship in April.
