Allen: The Experience, Vision & Skill Set We Need to Carry the Torch for Chapel Hill & Carrboro

A perspective from James Peacock

Allen Buansi is the best candidate for NC House District 56. There’s enough gridlock in Raleigh. We need a candidate with experience working with opponents to get things done—someone who has the calm determination, understanding of the issues, and maturity we can trust. That’s why I’m voting for Allen Buansi.

Allen has worked with communities in Chapel Hill/Carrboro and across North Carolina on environmental and education cases as a civil rights attorney. He worked with his Town Council colleagues to pass legislation that helps ease the burden of excessive court fines and fees.

Allen is committed to the issues I care about. These include climate justice, expanding affordable healthcare coverage, ensuring quality public education, reforming the criminal justice system, and guaranteeing equity for all.

We need more working parents like Allen in our state legislature. He understands first-hand the challenges of raising children. He will push for legislation that ensures that families and caregivers have the resources they need–time, finances and support. I applaud Allen for understanding what working parents and other caregivers need and his willingness to take our needs to the powers that be in Raleigh.

Join me in voting for Allen.
