The UNC women’s soccer team has earned the No. 2 overall seed for what will be known as the 2020 NCAA Championship, the NCAA announced on Monday.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was moved from the fall to the spring.

UNC went 11-1 during the fall portion of the schedule, with the only loss coming in the ACC title game against Florida State–which earned the No. 1 overall seed for the NCAA Championship.

The Tar Heels finished the season with a record of 15-1 after going unbeaten in four spring matches, and will take on the winner of Denver (16-2-1) and Loyola (8-1-1) in the second round of the tournament on April 30.

That game will be held at the SportsPlex in Matthews, NC. The entire tournament will be held at sites within the state of North Carolina.

This year’s College Cup–soccer’s version of the Final Four–will be held at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC.
