Due to COVID-19 issues and protocols within the UNC wrestling program, Friday’s scheduled match at Carmichael Arena against Virginia Tech has been postponed.

The Tar Heels announced the news Thursday afternoon via Twitter, stating that the teams will work to reschedule the match for a later date.

This marks the second time this season virus issues within the UNC program have forced a postponement, with the originally-scheduled season opener against Campbell on Jan. 1 meeting the same fate.

UNC ultimately scheduled a match on short notice against Gardner-Webb, which it won in dominant fashion by a score of 45-0 back on Jan. 10.
