The ACC Preseason Football Poll was revealed on Friday, with UNC picked to finish third in the league this season behind only Clemson and Notre Dame.

This year will be a bit different in the ACC, as the Fighting Irish make their debut in the conference and the normal division system won’t be used.

Each ACC team will play 10 conference games and one non-conference game this season. The two teams with the best records in conference play will compete for the ACC Championship.

Clemson received 132 of the 134 first-place votes in the poll and its junior quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, was selected as the Preseason ACC Player of the Year.

UNC wide receiver Dazz Newsome, tailback Michael Carter and linebacker Chazz Surratt gave the Tar Heels three players named to the Preseason All-ACC team.

The Tar Heels are set to kick their season off at home on Sept. 12 against Syracuse.
