The UNC men’s tennis team won the first two matches of its Atlantic Coast Conference season over the weekend.
Everything started with the No. 2 Tar Heels sweeping Louisville 7-0 in the home opener on Friday in a dominating performance.
Carolina then made the road trip to Raleigh to take on No. 33 NC State on Sunday afternoon.
The match was moved indoors due to the inclement weather on the first day of Spring.
UNC took the doubles point for the third match in a row against the Wolfpack, but NC State came out strong in singles play with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions giving NC State at 2-1 lead.
Victories at the No. 3 and No. 4 spots gave the Tar Heels the lead for good on the way to a 4-2 victory.
UNC is now 18-1 on the season and 3-1 in Atlantic Coast Conference play.
The Tar Heels will be back on the court on Friday hosting Clemson.
