The UNC football team will open its season in 2023 with the Duke’s Mayonnaise Classic at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte against the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Previously known as the Belk College Football Kickoff Game, a new sponsorship deal was agreed to Thursday by the Charlotte Sports Foundation that will also change the name of the annual Belk Bowl to the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.

The Tar Heels took on the Gamecocks as part of the Belk College Football Kickoff this past season, using a fourth-quarter comeback to win the game by a final score of 24-20.
