Starting with Saturday night’s game against Georgia State, UNC will be offering free COVID-19 vaccinations in front of Kenan Stadium. The vaccination tents will be located between gates 5 and 6 at the stadium, and will be operating from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. before the game. The Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will all be available.
In addition, anyone who receives the vaccine at the Kenan Stadium site will receive two free tickets to an upcoming home football game of the fan’s choice: either Duke (October 2), Florida State (October 9), Miami (October 16), Wake Forest (November 6) or Wofford (November 20). The Duke, Florida State, Miami and Wake Forest games are all sellouts.
“We need to do everything we can to keep each other safe, and that includes getting vaccinated for COVID-19 – and encouraging others to get vaccinated, as well,” said UNC athletic director Bubba Cunningham. “We appreciate partnering with Campus Health to offer this important service as we welcome our fans back to Kenan Stadium.”
The service provides either the first or second shot of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, along with the only Johnson & Johnson shot. Those wishing to get their second shot of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine must bring their vaccination card to the tent.
“Vaccinations and masks are the most effective tools we have to accomplish our number one goal: keeping ourselves, our families, our loved ones and our community safe,” said Ken Pittman, executive director of Campus Health.
Proof of vaccination is not required to enter Kenan Stadium as of Friday, September 10. Masks are strongly encouraged but not required in any outdoor setting, but they must be worn in indoor settings such as the Blue Zone or restrooms.
