The No. 6 North Carolina Tar Heel baseball team will open up conference play on Friday as Pittsburgh travels to Chapel Hill.

UNC sits at 10-1 on the season is riding a nine-game winning streak.

Pittsburgh is limping into Atlantic Coast Conference play as the Panthers were swept in three games last weekend at New Orleans.

UNC will start the junior right-hander Zan Gallen on Friday afternoon. Gallen is 1-0 on the season with a 1.21 ERA. The Panthers will counter with freshman Tyler Garbee, who is 0-0 with a 4.91 ERA on the young season.

Carolina will trot out its normal weekend starters in sophomores J.B. Bukauskas and Josh Morgan on Saturday and Sunday.

Carolina and Pittsburgh had never played on the baseball field before 2014. The two teams have split six games over the last two seasons.

The series will get started at three o’clock Friday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium. First pitch for Saturday is slated for two o’clock and the series finale will get started at one o’clock Sunday afternoon.
