Due to COVID-19 issues within the Boston College men’s basketball program, the Eagles’ scheduled game on Tuesday, Feb. 23 against UNC has been postponed.

The ACC announced the news on Wednesday, as Boston College was also forced to postpone its game against Georgia Tech.

UNC is coming off of an 82-62 non-conference win over Northeastern on Wednesday, which was scheduled on short notice after the Tar Heels’ game against Virginia Tech was postponed for similar reasons. Carolina’s next game, scheduled against Louisville on Saturday, also has a murky future. The Cardinals postponed their game against Syracuse Wednesday night due to a positive test within their program. As of Thursday morning, the ACC has not announced any changes to the Saturday matchup between UNC and Louisville.

The Tar Heels are 13-7 through their first 20 games this season. Of those 20 games, just seven have been played in Chapel Hill.

Head coach Roy Williams shared his thoughts on the Virginia Tech postponement and the other home games that have been postponed. He indicated if more delays or cancellations happen, he’s not against the program seeking out whatever opponents are willing to travel to the Dean Smith Center.

“If we have to go on Twitter again,” Williams said, in reference to Wednesday’s game against Northeastern, “I’m gonna try to find another home game. It’s just the bottom line.”
