With the 27th overall pick of Thursday’s MLS SuperDraft, the San Jose Earthquakes used their second round selection on UNC midfielder Jack Skahan.

Skahan started 50 of his 71 career games with the Tar Heels, racking up 12 goals and 12 assists throughout his career in Chapel Hill. He was also an All-ACC performer in each of the last two seasons.

Last season in the MLS saw the Earthquakes finish with a record of 13 wins, 16 losses and five draws–good enough for eighth place in the Western Conference, but not good enough to qualify for the league playoffs.
