This past Friday brought together over 300 former and current members of the UNC basketball family, as the floor at the Dean E. Smith Center was officially unveiled as “Roy Williams Court.”
The court naming ceremony was part of a larger Carolina Basketball reunion weekend that included a formal dinner and even a pickup session.
Former Tar Heel standouts Marvin Williams and Hubert Davis joined Scott Williams–the head ball coach’s son–UNC athletic director Bubba Cunningham, chancellor Carol Folt and Roy Williams himself in giving speeches at the ceremony.
UNC will play its first regular season home game on the newly christened “Roy Williams Court” on Nov. 10 when Northern Iowa comes to Chapel Hill for the season opener.
